It is May 19th and it is raining and like 40 something degrees.

Being from Arizona especially, this does NOT make sense to me.

It is supposed to be sunny and warm, so I can lay out by the pool and ride my bike.

I had to double up in layers today. boo. (at least my braid is cute, right?)

But, I am going to Arizona tonight, so I will finally get some vitamin D.

Excited to get back to this lovely abode for a few days!

Happy Mother's Day Leslie!

This little lady is Leslie, my mom. She is seriously so precious- she could fit in your pocket.

She is the greatest mom anyone could ask for.

Patient, kind, loving, friendly, caring.

She's super classy, she pretty much dresses cuter than anyone you know.

She's also super healthy.. and I thank her so much for teaching me how to be.
Thank you mom for being my bff, mom, a great sister, and nana.

I seriously could not live life without you.

Also, I want to give a little shout out to my gma allen- she is great. Honestly, thee most perfect woman you'll ever meet. She's thee most kind, classy woman ever.

She quilts, sews, makes amazing rolls, jams, and about anything she touches turns to gold.

Also- a shout out to gma patterson (no picture). She is so great as well! She dedicates all her time to service- and mainly to genealogy work. My gpa passed away many years ago- and i don't know how she does it, but she always remains to stay cheerful and happy. Love you!

This weekend, my mom (Leslie) and my sister JoAnn came into town from Arizona for Women's Conference. It was seriously so much fun hanging out with them, although after a few hours of attending Women's Conference, I vow to never go again. I guess I'm more of a fast-paced, anxiety-filled man then most of the women.

last week my family planned to go to NYC for a few days

i got to ditch school and join them. it was so fun because like 40 of my family members were there- we would literally just see some of them walking down the street, it was so fun!

we ate a lot, shopped, walked a lot, were really good tourists- (camera's around our necks, and all). it was also so fun to spend time with jenna like the old days.. (even though i do love dustin so much)

last week, les and don came into town for two days

we went to dinner in provo with the davis', willi, them, and i, but i only got to see them for 30 minutes and decided that wasn't enough time.

the next morning les and julie planned to go to salt lake with the kids, but i couldn't go because i had school... 830 in the morning les answers her phone and its me... telling her im ditching school to come spend time with them...

best decision!

yesterday was my 21st birthday!

needless to say, it was probably the best birthday i've ever had.

it started out with willi making me breakfast..

(this day would not have been nearly as great without her help)

lindsey willi and i went to color me mine

then julie and the kids met us there and gave me rice pudding (my favorite)

and caroline made me a cute little card.

then me and some of my favorite girls went to dinner

(megan took me to get a pedicure the day before) she really is so beautiful

and i had some friends over for dessert at my apartment.

my mom and dad gave me beautiful flowers

and a few of my friends gave me NIKE FREE'S. (they know me all too well- im obsessed with them)

so happy belated hollidays everybody!

i went home for two weeks and hung out with the family and friends, it was so nice to see everybody.

i went to breakfast with my favorite girls.. for real could they get any cuter?

had many family parties- the trio of cousins nicole regan and i (or nickel rag jam, as we used to call ourselves.)

hung out with this babe literally everyday- she is pretty much another pattergal.

i couldn't get enough of people saying- "Jamie AND Jamie?" when they met us.

it was so nice being home and hanging out with les don jayne and jess all the time. let me tell you- there are some perks of being home, but i am glad to get back to utah in my normal routine.

i started hair school monday.. and i love it! i know it has only been 3 days into it, but i feel like it is what i am supposed to be doing. i cannot wait to be on the floor and work on actual clients- not just my mannequin. I will be done in probably 14 months, so people, remember that I will be willing and able to do your hair! :)

thank you don and les for believing me that this is what i am supposed to do (even if it took 10 years of convincing).

RACE FOR THE CURE

So this last weekend, I had the opportunity to be apart of an amazing event called Race for the Cure in Salt Lake. Monya and some of the other Williams family came down from Arizona to attend. Also, Kaitlyn and Brian and Brian's family came. It seriously was such an amazing day. The streets were lined with pink as everyone walked the 3.1 miles to the finish line. It was more a day of celebration than a day of sadness for us.

We wore our "Save my TaTa's" shirt, which say Team Monya on the back. Her daughter Haleigh made them for Monya's supporters.

Monya is such an amazing woman and will fight this cancer til the very end. She is so strong and I know that if anyone can beat this cancer, it will be her. I gained a new perspective on how precious life is.

Arizona

i recently went down to arizona for jenna and dustin's wedding

and stayed for 2 weeks.

it was so fun seeing everyone.

jenna's wedding was uhhhmazing.. (which is NOT a surprise)

overall, the trip to arizona was very sucessful:

i saw some of my favorite people, got spoiled by les and don and went to dinner or lunch almost everyday, went on a field trip with Nathaniel's class, saved Charlie from drowning in the canal, and finally got a little bit of a tan.

i heart arizona!

54 never looked so good...

Here are a few things that I love about my mom:

She came to visit me a DAY after her Birthday and spoiled me and shopped til we dropped.

She is such an example of showing love to others. She hardly ever spends time doing things for herself.

She plans awesome vacations to New Port, CA every year. It is the one time our family is all together in two little houses. Although sometimes we want to pull out each other's hair, we love spending time with each other.

Also, for having 7 children and looking like you do.. (smaller than every one of us)
I don't know how she does it.

For spending time with the girls and never getting sick of us.
She probably is even more fashionable and hip than I am.

Les.. Thank you so much for raising me in such an amazing home. For teaching me what's right from the second I came out of the womb. For posting up a chore list every Saturday- because NOW I realize how beneficial it is. For always letting me have agency to choose the things that I want to do- and supporting me. For being my best friend in the whole world. I love you mom!

100 Days of Healthy

So the other day my friend Lex gave me an idea to do
100 days of healthy.

I am a sucker for these kind of health kicks (although sometimes I dont follow through)
so, of course I agreed.

Here are a few things that I am going to work on:

Blog more..

Exercise more than an hour each day.
(and hopefully have a body like this someday)

Eat healthier.

And the hardest one of all, give up ALL sweets.

(I've never been successful at doing this but I am going to try my hardest.)

So if anyone wants to join me in this 100 days of healthy, you totally should!

I have many weddings soon so I need to look smashing for them.

I AM COMING HOME!

kaitlyns wedding reception is this weekend.. crazy!

its finally time that i can come home and see my family. i have missed them so much! hopefully they have missed me as much.

A FEW THINGS I HAVE MISSED ABOUT ARIZONA
(which i now have decided is thee best state)

my sisters! ah.. words cant even explain how badly have missed them! although i am the worst person about calling them, i have missed them more than they know!

not only have i missed the good shopping in Arizona, but H&M opened! whaaaa?

i have missed the warmth of the AZ sun! i don't think i have ever been so cold for such a long period of time. Also, the great sunsets!

Lastly, I have missed these kidos the most! (and jake and than) Life without them is seriously not the same. I miss just the little things like babysitting them! I can't wait to spend time with them over Christmas break!

so.. why am i in Utah, you're asking? Sometimes.. I really dont know.

But one thing I know is that I am having fun!

I am so happy summer is coming near! It is by far my favorite season of the year. Even in the 120 degree heat, i love it! :)

It was Emily's birthday April 15th so in celebration we did what we do best.. ate and shopped! We ate lunch than headed out to scottsdale mall to go shopping (or more look because we don't have money) than went to sprinkles. We both got pumpkin cupcakes which are possibly thee best things i have ever had! Than ended the night going to Oreganos with a bunch of girl friends. It was a very fun day.

I watched Ben last week when Jeannine went to her Uncle's funeral. He is probaly the smartest little kid I have ever met! We went to the scrapbook store where I finally bought an M for my name above my bed so it doesn't say JAIE anymore. We also bought him a B and but BYU paper it. He loved it

Ashley went to her last prom ever last Saturday. She looked so pretty! It is funny to me sometimes that she is still in High School. I cant wait for her to finally graduate and than in August all of us move in to our house together in PROVO!

If you haven't heard Ashley and I have been on a diet called HCG-eating 500 calories a day of VERY specific foods. I don't know what I would have done if she wouldn't have done it with me. So far we have had very good success. Next time you see us we will hopefully look like new women!

Here is a little update..

For spring break, my family went to Park City. We went snowboarding, snowmobiling, and i visited kelsey and lindsey in Provo. It was such a fun trip!

I've been thinking about my future black babies a lot lately...

I mean how could you not? I hope so badly that i can have one of these kidos. Ever since I was a little child I would tell my mom "I am adopting a black baby and naming him Brockavitch!" I still want to adopt an African child but defiantly not name him/her Brocavitch.

I have been "searching desperatly" for a job.. (really just talking about looking for one and not even trying to). I am going to the big apple this summer and need to start saving my pennies..

which, as most know, is hard for me! If anyone needs a helping hand with their children or cleaning im your girl..
